2,972-acre Beltzville
State Park is developed around the U.S. Army Corps
of Engineers flood control project, Beltzville Dam. Beltzville
Lake is 949 acres with a shoreline of 19.8 miles. The park is
located along the Pohopoco Creek with recreation areas around

Mauch Chunk Lake Park is situated
between the mountain ridges near the historic towns of Jim Thorpe
and Summit Hill. The park offers 2820 acres of fun-filled outdoor
recreation, including camping, picnicking, swimming, fishing,
and boating. In addition to the lake, the park boasts nearly 30
miles of trails, including the "Switchback Trail", an 18-mile
component of the National Trails System. The trails provide year-round
opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing.
